Street-Style Peanut Cheese Chaat

A vibrant and tangy Indian street food-inspired chaat featuring crunchy peanuts and creamy fresh cheese, perfect for a quick snack or appetizer.

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 100g fresh paneer (Indian cheese), cubed
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney
  • 1 tablespoon green chutney (coriander-mint)
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles) for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the roasted peanuts and cubed paneer.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions, tomato, and green chili if using.
  3. Pour in the tamarind chutney and green chutney, mixing well to coat all ingredients.
  4. Sprinkle the chaat masala and salt to taste.
  5. Add lemon juice and gently toss everything together.
  6. Transfer the mixture to serving plates and garnish generously with sev and chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Serve immediately to enjoy the crunchy textures and tangy flavors at their best.

Notes

For a creamier texture, sprinkle a little yogurt before serving or add diced cucumber for extra freshness.
