Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Twists

Delightful puff pastry twists filled with a savory blend of spinach and feta cheese, perfect as a snack or appetizer for any occasion.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add chopped spinach, season with salt and pepper, and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cooled spinach mixture with feta and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over half the pastry.
  6. Fold the pastry over to cover the filling and gently press to seal.
  7. Cut the filled pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
  8. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush each twist with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  11. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking or serve with a side of tzatziki sauce for dipping.
