Freshly prepared Jalapeno Popper Pinwheels on white plate

These Jalapeno Popper Pinwheels are a spicy, cheesy appetizer perfect for parties or snacks, featuring a creamy filling rolled in flaky pastry with a kick of jalapeno heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapenos, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 10×12 inches.
  4. Spread the cheese and jalapeno filling evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the pastry into a tight log.
  6. Slice the log into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels and place them on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
  7. Brush the pinwheels with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle the pinwheels with chopped fresh cilantro or serve with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
