Ground Beef Stroganoff

Ground Beef Stroganoff is a comforting and creamy dish featuring tender ground beef and mushrooms in a savory sour cream sauce served over noodles. Perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream. Cook gently until heated through, but do not boil to prevent curdling. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the stroganoff sauce over cooked egg noodles. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra richness, add a splash of cream or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving. This dish pairs well with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables.
