cheese quesadilla

A simple and delicious cheese quesadilla featuring melted cheese between warm, crispy tortillas, perfect for a quick snack or meal.

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Salsa (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add half the butter.
  2. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle evenly with the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
  3. Top with the second tortilla and press down gently.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  5. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
  6. Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing into wedges.
  7. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add cooked chicken, sautéed peppers, or a sprinkle of chili powder inside before melting the cheese.
