Bang Bang Fried Rice is a spicy and flavorful twist on the classic fried rice, featuring a bold creamy sauce that adds an exciting kick to every bite. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice (preferably day-old)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, soy sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes; set aside the Bang Bang sauce.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the onions and garlic, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Push shrimp mixture to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into the empty side; scramble until just set.
  5. Add the cooked rice and frozen peas to the skillet. Stir-fry everything together, breaking up any clumps of rice.
  6. Pour the Bang Bang sauce over the rice mixture and toss until well coated and heated through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions.
  8. Serve hot with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

For added protein, try substituting shrimp with diced chicken or tofu. Serve with a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
